Lubricant storage

Lubricant storage prevents quality loss and contamination. The basic principles are: dry, clean, temperature-controlled areas; keep containers closed, protect from sun/frost and store upright. Avoid water and dust ingress, cover filler openings, use breathing filters/desiccants. Observe the FIFO principle and expiry dates; use opened containers promptly. Clear labelling (media name, batch, hazard pictograms) and separate zones for incompatible products reduce risks.

For larger quantities: Plan for collection trays/leakage concepts, grounding and fire protection. Keep filling and transfer equipment clean, use colour codes and document sampling. This maintains product quality, prevents mix-ups and creates the basis for safe, standard-compliant processes in production and maintenance.
